Projection

Pablo Gnecco
When I saw Pablo Gnecco’s projection art for the first time, I felt like it was just a hand portrait but when I look at each part, I see stories or feelings that are conveyed by the movement of each hand. Such as the image of the left-hand clapping, giving a feeling of relaxation and encouragement. Appreciation from experienced people in life. The right hand portrays a feeling of strength, determination, and power, with youthful hand characteristics and veins on the hand indicating strength. The alignment of the hand images scattered with the center as the focal point is the large and ok hand. Small-handed images are the flow points that are drawn to the focus point. He uses a black and white image adjustment technique that makes the intention of the mood clearer and more intense.
The projection technique makes the picture look more attractive. Confusing yet engaging, as well as the movement of the images, the story can be told in a more intuitive way. The artist's work gave me the idea that different stories and feelings can be expressed through video recording and projection.
Photo Shoot

Continuing my study of Module 3, I will incorporate street style in my work. During this shoot, I photographed places in different cities, be it walls or different areas, as an idea to create a story. The life of people in the UK like the Characteristics of houses or environments in the UK are mixed with Thai culture or the lifestyle of Thai people. I looked for similarities in the life of Thai people in the U.K environment or ideas developed after the shoot. And this photo is linked to stencil and collage work to create stories or ideas.
Idea and Concept

Process

The rope inspires the idea to me to do this artwork. When I came to the UK, I have never seen people drying clothes outside the house on a rope which is quite common in Thailand. I saw the rope and it remind me of my mom who used to dry clothes outside.

This is a floating market in Thailand. I got this idea a lot from the picture of the waterfront houses that I took. I used the water pipes as the boats of the merchants rowing to sell their things. This is a picture related to the culture and way of life of Thai people who rowboats and sell food and is what I really liked when this lifestyle started to fade, I created this work to tell and spread Thai culture.

Before and After

The idea of aquanaut comes from the fire on the walls that look like the breathing of a diver and Thailand has beautiful maritime attractions including snorkeling in the sea. I created the diver in the center of the image and brought the corals and fish as flow points to make the image more attractive.

The idea of a safari began with a crack in the wall that looks like a tiger's head. So, I created a story about tourists visiting zoos in Thailand like tigers and elephants that are abundant in Thailand. I positioned the tiger's head along the cracks in the wall and brought the elephant herd as the base of the image to keep the image from being empty and centered the tree as the focal point of this shot.
Before and After

The fisherman's idea came from the S hook in the window. In the image placement and movement style I used the fisherman with a pull gesture as the center focal point and a marlin. The curved fish is the flow point to connect back to the focus point and add the fish and coral as the flow point and help the image not be too flat.

The idea of the train was derived from the water pipes of the house that looked like old water trains. I made the train with smoke as the center point of the picture, with the flow point as a caution sign, and built a small fence so that it wouldn't be a distraction from the train.
Before and After

Concept
My idea came from my dream of being an actor or filmmaker. I want to make a movie about a life story and movies like this are mostly based on the life of a person who has met or gone through many different situations until becoming the person today. Everyone is like a tape or a movie playing and showing many events in life. Sometimes life makes us too be sad, happy, tired, or successful, but these stories just make up for how we are today. I created a man with a camera head projecting different people's stories. The person with the camera head means the person who will gradually create the story of the person's life and that's me. I wanted to bring out issues by showing homeless people, laborers, students, etc. who are not always under the spotlight.

Stencil process

I made a stencil of the main character. This artwork was conceptualized from the story of my dream to be a moviemaker about the life story of the people who created this art. A camera means creating or presenting a story and keeping a record of different moments to lead. Let's make a story Roll of the film represents the path of life. The events and stories of people made you who you are today. So, I choose a film camera because the camera film when we shoot or record video.
It is interesting that not like a digital camera, the system of a film camera doesn’t allow to edit or fixing what has been already recorded. It has only one opportunity to shoot. And when you don't like or need pictures taken. The only way that will delete pictures is throwing away the film roll. It's just like our life, Sometimes things can go wrong or have already happened. We can't go back and fix it, All we can do is improve or learn from the next mistakes.
Recording of the street
To show the stories, I choose to record the high street in Canterbury, where I live. I often observe people around. I wanted talk about the stories behind them by giving attention. I also noticed the tendency that ‘the hidden in people who are in needs, being neglected. It might be because "You see what they show you, whether it's strength or success," but this projection is a story of a path or a segment that many people overlook and fail to notice. You might only see him as a working man or a homeless person for example. But if you observe or listen to the person’s life story, you will see the hardships or successes that had or have in life.

Photoshoot
Then I projected the recording. I choose an angled surface to project my work. How to arrange projection images in different triangles or squares These show the purpose of the picture, for example. Triangles give a sense of transformation, exploration, and creativity. Squares give the impression of energy, proof, and path. You won't be aware of these people's efforts, hardships, or feelings in everyday life, but everyone has their own story and path, so I projected them from different angles to convey different feelings.
Editing and selection

The first picture is a picture of a homeless person who is ignored by society no one wants to be close to them. The second picture, the person who asked to support the end of the war but was neglected and overlooked by society. The third picture is a woman who is interested in what she wants. These 3 images have a feeling of loneliness and with the black-and-white adjustments the image becomes more dynamic. The placement of each image uses a stencil of the main character as the flow point of the image and image 1 uses the homeless, image 2 a man and image 3 a woman looking at a menu as the focal point. I used HDR technique to edit images to make them look sharper by adjusting them to black and white to allow for more detail in shadows and highlights.

Edit process

Using photo-pea, I edited exposure, brightness, highlights, shadows, contrast, and brightness to create the best results. The photograph has a rather dark tone to clearly show the textures and movement of people. The spectrum of brightness also makes the picture look more realistic. I darkened the image as the black gave a strong emotion. and made me feel more immersed in that feeling Light or white gives positive emotions. Make the picture look more moving mood and use HDR techniques to adjust the sharpness of the picture
Final work

This video tells the story of the lives of people in the streets of a city that has been ignored and neglected by many. I made this video to show the life story of people who are neglected by society. They are not in the eyes of the people, so people don't know what happened or what has brought them here. And every life is precious, do not neglect and judge his worth from the outside.
